WELL, HEY THERE

I feel like I'm in this weird limbo space where I'm wanting so badly to create new posts and have so many new ideas for my blog, but I literally have no time to produce anything.  I promise this little once-a-monther theme isn't going to continue, but bear with me for the next few weeks.  I'm not apologizing, because well..life just happens sometimes and papers and assignments are going to trump this blog..it's just what it is.  But I miss it, I miss y'all.  I miss the collaborating and creativity.  But, I think timing is everything and right now just isn't my time to be blogging like crazy.

A little life update, though:

School:  I have one and one half of a semester left.  I am walking in the big graduation ceremony this May (what?) and then will be officially done in August.  The individual days went by so very slowly, but the years..man, where did the time go?  Also, what the heck am I going to do with all my free time when it's over? That's another blog post for another day.

Location:  I am happy in D.C.  I've met a lot of wonderful people and I'm just obsessed with the vibe here.  Cheeseball alert:  Almost once a day, I think to myself how happy I am.  However, I am not so much obsessed with the politics..that's not my thing, but the culture, restaurants, shopping, etc..it's my scene.  I've decided to renew my lease for another year, but anything could happen.  On this point, if you're in D.C. (or if you're traveling here this spring), make sure to check out the Yayoi Kusama:  Infinity Mirrors exhibit at the Hirshhorn Museum.

Job:  I have never felt so happy in a job.  Is it because it's so stress-free?  Maybe.  Is it because my boss is amazing?  Maybe.  Is it because I know (and they know) it's not a forever job?  Maybe.  Who knows..but for right now, I'm content and content is just what I need until I complete school.  What do I do next?  That's probably the biggest weight on my shoulders right now.

Relationships:  Like this blog, I don't have time.  However, I think I need to start focusing on it like I focus on school.  I'm content with being single, though..I always have been, so maybe something's wrong with me?  Kidding, but really.  Maybe it'll take just being with the right person, but with my current schedule, if it's going to happen in the near future, he's got to be the one to find me and not the other way around (aka I deleted all the dating apps because they were wasting my time :).

Blog:  Like I said above, I'm going to keep up with it as much as I can, but I also am not putting any pressure on myself.  I'm going to try and stay as current as possible on Instagram, though..so hopefully that'll keep my creative juices flowing.  But also, fun project!  Brentwood (suburb of Nashville and my home town) Home Page website has asked me to contribute to their style section.  #flattered  I'll be writing a column about twice a month for them and I'm really excited..something totally new, so I'm pumped.  I'll send out the link once the first article is published.

Events:  So, I typically gauge my amount of events by how many dresses I have rented on RTR.  No joke.  Right now I have about five, so that tells you something.  In January, I attended the TN Inaugural Ball here in D.C., I'm headed to the Pink Tie Party tonight, and I'll be attending Taste of the South in April..so that's three.  I'm also super pumped for TOTS because (shameless plug) I'm getting my makeup and hair done by Glamsquad and they are amazing.  They come out to your house (or wherever you are) and do your hair/makeup right there.  You don't have to leave!  They're in a few cities now, so if you are in one where they are, you've got to try them.  Use the code:  LAURALEHMAN for $25 off your first service.  The other two dresses on rent are for a friend's wedding and my 30th!  30th?!  I know; yikes.

Trips:  I've got a lot coming up, but I've actually traveled a little bit already this year.  I was able to go to NYC and Nashville in February.  Whenever I'm in NYC, I always want to move there.  Sooo now that idea is floating around in my head.  I also just got back from a trip to Memphis and Nashville (again) and I'll soon be going to Atlanta and Charleston (for said 30th).  Also, trying to figure out how to make a Barcelona/Madrid trip happen..but ya know..money.  I'll also be going to Skaneateles Lake in upstate New York in the fall for a wedding, so yea..lots happening in this department.

Enough about me?  How is everyone doing?  Any new jobs?  Boyfriends?  Cities?  I'd love to hear from y'all!
