Everyone, listen up. The other week, I went to one of the coolest dinners I've ever had in D.C. and it was at a total stranger's house. Hear me out. I am taking a class in grad school which is all about the Economy Sharing industry (think: Uber, AirBNB, etc.). As a requirement for the class, we had to choose a segment of that industry and research the companies within that segment in D.C. This is in preparation for our trip to San Fran (mentioned in this post) and to introduce us to a company we'll have the opportunity to study out there. I chose the Dining segment (duh) and specifically, EatWith.com. I chose the company on a total whim because, honestly, there really aren't that many meal-sharing companies in D.C...yet. Well, I lucked out. I don't want to go into too many details, because I highly suggest for y'all to try it out yourself, but let's just say I had a 5 course meal (drinks included) for $65 from an amazing cook, in an amazing home, with amazing people. It was intimate, fun, and yummy. I really could go on and on, but seriously, you should try it out. I will say that I am solely vouching for the D.C. host, Catherine. I haven't had any other meal-sharing experiences yet, so make sure to read reviews if you don't try out Catherine. I left the dinner feeling not only feeling full, but satisfied.
