FRIDAY READS

My summer reads:

1. Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll:

Loved this book.  I actually loved the main character even though I think you were supposed to hate her.  Thrilling, captivating, all of the above.  I read this in two days.

2. Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins:

Another favorite from this summer.  Again, the main character was a bit off, but I loved her.  You can guess the ending by half-way through, but it's still really good.  Again, definitely stayed up much later than my normal bedtime a few nights to get in a few more chapters.

3. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan:

Not my fave.  Very slow at first.  Picks up a bit, but not really.  By the end, I was like, "that's it?".  Wouldn't highly recommend.  There is a sequel, but usually the sequel isn't as good as the first, soo..

4. Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari:

Super funny.  No duh.  But, really, it's a great read for someone like me who is making their way through the online/app dating scene.  I think if you're in a relationship, you won't like it/won't understand.  It's not as captivating as the first two reads, but it's definitely worth the purchase.

Now, on to Everybody Rise by Stephanie Clifford and The Knockoff by Lucy Sykes.  I'm also trying to find more reads like the first two if anyone has any suggestions.

  1. I've been making my way through Modern Romance and though I struggle at times with the data heavy parts, I'm literally laughing out loud more often than not. We're definitely living it haha.
