cleanser || moisturizer || eye cream || tinted moisturizer
I admit it. I am completely guilty of mixing up all my facial care products. I've heard multiple times that you should stick to one line of products and use all the products in that one line, but I have worked long and hard to find the specific products that I love and work best for me. The 4 steps below outline my typical morning face-care routine:
Step 1:
My routine is really simple and starts with the most basic of the basic cleansers, Neutrogena Oil Free Face Wash. I lightly clean my face and use a small towel to pat dry. (Tip: At night, I wash my face twice. I still use the same product, but after removing my makeup, I apply the cleanser straight to my skin without water then rinse with warm-hot water. Then I wash my face again with lukewarm water as normal.)
Step 2:
I then apply Murad Anti-Aging Moisturizer for Blemish Prone Skin. I don't normally get many blemishes, but some moisturizers tend to make me break-out, so I try to avoid that. This moisturizer also has SPF 30 which is key.
Step 3:
After I've moisturized my face, it's time for the eyes. My eyes have recently become my problem area. As I've been getting older, I've noticed some small wrinkles right under my eyes and it's not okay. I have been using Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Morning Eye Rescue, but stopped in Bluemercury the other day to ask about other under-the-eye products. The employee suggested to pump up the power and try Caudalie's Premier Cru Eye Cream. I went home with a sample and have been using it for about a week. I haven't noticed a huge difference, so still unsure. Any suggestions on a great day-time, under-the-eye cream? It needs to help with dark circles & puffiness as well as wrinkles. No biggie.
Step 4:
To complete my routine, I use a very small amount of Revision Intellishade - Original as my "foundation". It is an anti-aging tinted moisturizer with SPF 45. Bonus SPF. I love this product. It is the perfect tinted moisturizer. It's hard to come by, but sometimes is offered on Amazon and I'll usually buy a sample pack in order to have travel sizes. You can also sometimes buy directly through your dermatologist. Don't let that scare you, though; it's actually very reasonably priced.
After those 4 quick steps, I apply my makeup, but that's a different post for a different day.
Happy Friday!
