This weekend was probably the most bittersweet weekend I've had in a while. I could not have been more excited to go home to Nashville and see my family and pick up my puppy and now I'm feeling super down about being back in DC. I am not regretting my overall decision to move to DC at all, but I feel like a terrible puppy parent for taking my dog away from her "sister", "grandma", and "grandpa". Mollie is a very scared little puppy and I feel like I've traumatized her by bringing her here. She is barking at every little noise, she isn't eating, and has been sleeping more than normal. I also am feeling a lot more unsure about how the dog-walker sitch is going to go. I forgot how crazy Mollie gets around other dogs=not allowed on the group dog walks. In addition to all that, I also feel really sad about being away from my family. I guess it didn't really hit me until this point because I now won't be home for about two months whereas before it was only two weeks of being all on my own. It's going to be a tough two months, but at least I have Mollie. See? Bittersweet.
