Snow days? Those are reserved for the children and those teaching the children, not the corporate worker bees. I haven't seen a snow day since I started working over 5 years ago. We always receive the same message, "The building will be open, use your best judgment, you may have to use a vacation day if your boss is an a**hole". It's something along those lines. And you somehow always find yourself sitting at your desk.
This year, I chose life over employment and although still "working from home", I am not confined to my cubicle which has been oh-so-relaxing. Sex & the City has been playing in the background throughout the last two days and I may have even thrown in a few playtime sessions with the puppy. I'm admitting this because I don't care.
For all those who have legitimate snow days and don't have to work from home, I've come up with a list of to-dos for the off chance you get a little stir crazy:
1) File your taxes if you haven't already or file away the paperwork if you have
2) Make that recipe you've been wanting to make for ages (note: check to see if all ingredients are available and have not expired--there's no running to the grocery in this mess)
3) Sleep. Really sleep. Take naps whenever you want and sleep in.
4) Back-up your iPhone (I would, but I can't because it always tells me I can't)
5) Start a blog
6) Do NOT online shop
7) Catch-up on the MBFW shows
8) Organize that thing you've been wanting to organize (closet, inbox, jewelry box)
9) Shower. Don't forget to shower.
10) Play with your puppy in the snow. If you don't have a puppy, I still suggest getting outside and seeing how beautiful all of this cold weather really is
