I'M SORRY

I am almost annoyed just typing it.  I was sent this funny/kinda sad video the other day by a colleague and I could not have related to it more.  I catch myself saying "I'm sorry" about a million times a day for things I am not sorry about at all.  Just because someone runs into me and steps on my own foot, doesn't mean I have to be the one apologizing for it (strange concept, huh?).  I have definitely been told a time or two that I say "I'm sorry" too often; and my response:  you guessed it.  Politeness, femininity, lack of confidence..not sure what the cause (probably a mix of it all), but I am going to start being more conscious of when I say "I'm sorry" and making sure that I really mean it. Disclaimer:  “Sorry, I’m not sorry” jokes don’t count.

ON HOLD

I'm calling this period of my life the "On-Hold Chapter".  After a few disappointments, I've had to reassess the next couple months and while it isn't what I had pictured, I'm excited about my new stress free to-do list (note:  Type "A" personality never goes on-hold).  First:  work on developing BNA-DCA by taking the advice I have received from some wonderful people.  (A lot) More to come on that.  Second:  pump up my savings.  I had been working on it, but now it's crunch time.  Third:  network within the Nashville community.  This has definitely been on the back-burner, but I'm excited to start back up. 

Although, I wish I could be working on my not-on-hold to-do list, I think it is important for me to have a few goals to work on in the mean time.

FAVE FINDS

I have used the same exact eyeliner for probably the last 8 years.  I thought I loved it, but after having a few issues (smudging, never staying on in the creases), it was time for us to go our separate ways.  This was a long relationship, but after a quick trip to Sephora I realized what I had been missing.  I'm now seeing Nars "Larger Than Life Long-Wear" and it's going very well so far.  I was so used to reapplying my eyeliner throughout the day, but now I have nothing to worry about; it stays on forever.  It's so new I don't want to jinx it, but I think this may be the one ;)

THREE DAYS

I have three days to make two very big decisions.  Three days.  Three days can seem like forever when you're sitting behind a computer screen all day pretending to work, but in my case it is the shortest amount of time ever.  I know that may sound like an exaggeration, but to me it's not.  I am extremely #blessed to have a God that loves me and has everything already planned out for me..however, I would love to get an email from him letting me know what I should do.  Trust is something I'm working on.  Detes to come soon.

Nordys really knows how to get ya.  After looking at the different sale items, I decided to venture over to the full-price items.  Always a mistake.  I think I fell in a love with a sleeveless blouse (#4).  Then after that, I was hooked on finding some great blouses..regardless if they were from Nordstrom or not.  "From every mistake, comes a new blog post." -Myself

Don't forget that Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale is going on now through July 17th for cardholders and then open to everyone on the 18th.

NEAT WITH A TWIST

I could literally kick myself for passing up Target's brass (looking) bar-cart they were selling about a year ago.  #fail  #stillnotoverit

Anywho, I absolutely love a good bar-cart.  I am a complete neat freak, but this is the one place I think it's okay to get a little cluttered.  Actually, cluttered may not be the best word; "stocked" is more like it.  When a bar-cart is organized and styled correctly it is the best accessory your living room can have (for more than one reason—I can taste the bubbles now :).

You can be sure, the next time I find a super cute and affordable bar-cart, I will not be passing it up.

GHOST CHAIRS & GALLERY WALLS

Let's start with the ghost chairs:  they are a must-have for a small studio apartment and a must-buy for me.  I'm trying to decide between buying one for my desk or two to have around a small bistro table..decisions, decisions.

Now, onto the gallery wall:  As a kid, I was obsessed with making collages and I'm telling myself that this is the adult way to go about it.  I absolutely love the idea of a gallery wall, but only if it is executed well.   I think pre-planning your layout is absolutely key.  I also think having a mix of art, prints, 3D decor, and items in shadow boxes is very important.  Layering different colors and textures will really make it interesting.

Cooking in these marble covered kitchens would be just heavenly, right?  Everything you could possibly need is right at your fingertips and you know these pantries are perfectly stocked.  Only thing I'm wondering is what color their professional grade KitchenAid mixers are..

CHAIRS ON CHAIRS

I am having a little moment with animal print chairs right now.  It's the perfect amount of pattern to make a room look super chic.  I am 100% upholstering my armchair with one of the fabrics above and canNOT wait.  PS-I am also having a little moment with Pinterest right now, so bear with me this week ;)

Happy 4th of July, y'all!  Gray Malin is this week's fave find.  I first found out about him through different interior decorating blogs and immediately fell in love.   His photographs are incredibly unique and fun. A few of my favorite photographs are above and I am seriously considering ordering one (or two) for my future gallery wall.
