DREAMING OF..

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8

Loving these pieces from Loren Hope, Julie Vos, and J. Crew.  They are all perfect for the summer.  You can never go wrong with a statement cuff, necklace, or earrings and a pop of bold gold.

FAVE FINDS

Read it, saw it, still crying.  But seriously, the movie actually did the book justice.  Only a few parts were left out, but after seeing the movie, they weren't entirely necessary.  Although the movie was wonderful, I still recommend reading the book first.  Something about reading makes the story more meaningful and personal. Two tearful and emotional thumbs up!

WILL POWER: TAKE 3

It has almost been a whole month now and the only slip-up I had was the Brittany Fuson print.  I have to say, I'm proud of myself.  I also don't feel without or that I'm missing anything from not shopping, although I still have had a few I-have-nothing-to-wear days.  I really think shopping can be addictive and if you feed it, it will get worse.  I already know I have to purchase a few items next month, but I'm still going to stay aware of my shopping habits and continue to be better about my spending.  I'd say the No-Shopping-For-Myself month was a success!

SUMMERTIME SLEEPWEAR

These are a couple of my favorite pieces of sleepwear and underthings.  Let's be real:  I'm not actually sleeping in the royal blue or chartreuse number, but maybe one day I'll be that fancy (cue Iggy song)..

FAVE FINDS

Three weekends ago I went through a major closet cleanse.  Usually, when I clean out my closet, I end up keeping a lot of junk that I should have gotten rid of.  But no, not this time.  I was determined to clear up some much needed closet space and boy, did I do just that.  Three garden trash bags later, I was on my way to Plato's Closet and, true to form, they only took 16 items out of the bagillion I had brought in.  If any of y'all have tried selling your items at Plato's Closet before, you'll empathize.  I had some legit pieces (Tory Burch wallet, Versace sunglasses, designer jeans, etc.) and of course, they take my old Nike work-out clothes..I guess something is better than nothing?

Anyways, I am trying out one of my newest fave finds, Poshmark, for the first time, so make sure to check out all my items (my username is @bnatodca)..and rest assured, these will be priced on the low low.  Don't mind that I have 0 followers..I'm sure that has changed by now ;)  Poshmark is an app which allows users to buy and sell clothes and it is very user friendly.  It is sorta like a fashionable, more condensed eBay..

Sign up on their website or download the app now!

WAITING GAME

photo:  madewell.com

In the past few years, I haven't had anything huge I've had to wait on..I have a steady job, I'm out of school, I'm not trying out for any teams, etc.  But recently, I feel like I have really had my patience tested.  In a good way.  Although waiting on things can bring on stress (cue the breakouts), it also can be exciting.  Not only does it give me time to think about what is important, it has made me realize how many good things are going on at once and how lucky I am to even be allowed these opportunities.  I guess, at least for now, I don't really mind being a player in the waiting game.

FAVE FIND

Recently, I have been going to William Edge Salon to have my hair cut/colored/conditioned.  I had never been to an Aveda salon before and now I don't know if I ever will try anything but.  First of all, I fell in love with my stylist, Taylor.  I was recommended to her by someone at work a few months ago and have been about 3-4 times now.  Taylor is super sweet and very understanding.  She listens to what I want, but also makes really good suggestions (super helpful for someone like me who knows nada about hair).  On top of getting a great cut, I always leave with my hair beautifully styled.  With the amount of compliments I usually get afterwards, I knew I had to invest in some Aveda products so I could try and mimic the look myself. I started with the Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother and just love it!  It helps with humidity (which is terrible in Nashville, btw) and almost acts like a detangler, as well.  It is my first Aveda fave find, but won't be the last!

WILL POWER: TAKE 2

Okay, I'll admit it:  I completely forgot that June was no-shopping-for-yourself month.  Woopsies?  Seriously, though, it just totally left my mind.  Even with totally forgetting, I only bought one thing..and it was worth it!  I am planning to start a gallery wall and my accidental purchase is the first piece for it..and I am SO excited about it :)  Brittany Fuson's prints, notecards, luggage tags, etc. are the cutest and I can't wait to buy a few more (next month ;)!  Planning on including this, this, this, and this.

FAVE FIND

Last Friday I received one of my most favorite pieces of jewelry yet.  I have been envying more than a few pieces from Julie Vos (these, these, this and this), but when I saw this pendant featured on one of her "Friday Deals" sale, I clicked "Purchase" as quickly as my fingers could click.  Confession:  I wore this necklace for three days in a row.  I received probably 5 compliments each time.  I don't know if it's the unique designs or if it's the thick gold she uses, but here is just something about Julie's jewelry that makes it stand out.  Make sure to sign-up for her emails so you are sent the notification for all her Friday Deals.  Most definitely a fave find and most definitely going to fave-ing more pieces soon.

IT'S A...

My little sister found out a few weeks ago that she and her husband are expecting!  This will be their first, so I think we (me, Mom, Dad, and Nana) were all a little shocked when they made the initial announcement, but now that it has soaked in, it has turned into such an exciting thing for everyone.  My sister is hosting a dinner tonight to reveal the sex of the baby (strong feeling it's going to be a girl, but we'll see) and I couldn't be more anxious to find out (cue the cute-baby-outfit-buying).  I think change, with anything, especially a big change can be shocking at first, but as time passes, that change usually turns out to be a positive thing for everyone.  Congrats, Lis..can't wait for tonight!

These are a few of my favorite sandals for the summer.  They range from classic to trendy, affordable to pricey, and casual to not-as-casual :)
